The College-Level Examination Program or CLEP provides students of any age with the opportunity to demonstrate college-level achievement through a program of exams in undergraduate college courses. The University of Arkansas provides this avenue through which above average students may seek advanced standing. Motivated, independent learners may want to explore the possibility of obtaining credit through CLEP.
Check the current Catalog of Studies for a complete list of accepted exams. All examinees must present two forms primary and secondary of identification in order to take CLEP. With the new computer-based tests, new questions are constantly being added, especially in rapidly-changing fields such as Computer Science.

English Literature The English Literature exam is primarily concerned with major British authors and literary works. Without an acceptable ID you cannot test. Non-programmable calculators are allowed for all exams. All other materials will be provided for the exam.
Scores: If you are eligible to receive course credit based on your exam score, the credit will be posted to your academic record within business days. Scores will not affect your GPA.
If you pass, you will only see credit for the course, not a grade. If you do not receive the minimum score, you will not see anything on your transcript.
