Same thing for the Sig P - is it just a hangover from the DoD pistol trials? I'll probably get the M11 or a P Combat. But just on sheer looks, I like the look of the Mk I find the M11 feels more comfortable in hand.
But, like you, it was an impossible decision for me. I had a P Sig and. Pretty gun. Nice Cocobolo stocks. Beautiful executive desk gun, ran like a top, super easy to clean. It was never ever easy to shoot, yet had really soft recoil even with hot loads. Seemed comfortable in the hand when picked up, but try and try and practice and practive it just took WAY to much concentration to be accurate. This is not the case with any of my other guns. I sold it and did not regret it. Of course! Still, choices have to be made and this week it's two round cases of 5.
I have both and ccw the everyday without issue. I much prefer the extra mag capacity. I have both a production Sig P and a production Mk If I was going to take one, I would probably go with the P for one reason. The P is a better all around gun.
Kind of like the G19 is getting to be more common than the G17, the P is just a little easier to conceal, but doesn't give up much in terms of handling. It is not much smaller than a P, but the little bit it is makes concealing a bit easier.
It also is able to mount a flashlight just fine. As for shooting, the P is ever so slightly easier to shoot, just because of a longer sight radius, slightly bigger grip, and longer slide. Overall though, it is a very subtle difference. The P is not really giving up anything in mag capacity. The P and Mk25 both come with 15 round magazines even the p can get 15 round flush mec gars.
I have extended 18 round magazines for my P that work great as well. All P mags work in the P so you can even use the 20 round P mags if you wanted. I shoot the just a hair better. I would suggest a short trigger modification. Re: Sig P vs P I appreciate all the comments. I have another question. The reason I ask, it would be nice if in addition to concealed carry it could also work as an Ohio deer legal handgun. The factory threaded barrel in my PR is 5" if that helps.
You might try giving Bar-Sto or some of the other custom barrel makers a call and see if what they have to say. Oct 9, 0 33 DFW. You can't go wrong with sig! Lol I favor the Jul 30, 0 San Antonio, TX. They feel and balance very differently from each other-see if there's a range nearby that has them for rent and try them out.
I say stick with 9mm. Not a fan of Beats the guns up real bad and not as good as a Guns will last forever with 9mm ball for practice. Jan 18, 25 Fox Cities, Wisconsin. I had a and I thought the had a better natural point and seemed better balanced. Can't go wrong with either. May 10, 0 64 Colorado. I think the is better balanced also and wanted something smaller than the as I carry 's. Just bought the M11, it's great! TheGonz Private Full Member. Oct 15, 70 0 37 SA, TX.
The P is a full-sized pistol, while the Sig P is a compact, mid-sized pistol. Since the P has a smaller grip area, it is quite easier to conceal. However, if you have bigger hands and would rather get your hands on something with a larger grip, then the full-sized P may be a better option. Between P vs P, both handguns have similar frame dimensions, the same magazine capacities, the same calibers, and the same frame and slide material.
Both also have identical trigger pull weight and rifling twist length. When it comes to accessories, both Sig pistols also have flashlight attachments and laser rail. When it comes to pricing, both the Sig Sauer P and P are within the same price range.
Both and have almost the same weight of around 34 oz. There is a difference in the length of about. With its shorter grip that makes it easy to conceal carry , the Sig Sauer P wins this category. Most shooters and gun enthusiasts know that a pistol with longer slide and barrel will most likely have better recoil control and probably softer recoil, too.
We proved that during our testing of the two Sig brothers. A longer sight radius may also result in better shots. With its longer barrel and slide, the Sig P is our choice in this aspect. For another in-depth comparison, we recommend the 6. What is a Sig Dak? Is a SIG p double action?
